Terms and Conditions of Entry

1.       Promoter

The Promoter is Village Cinemas Australia Pty Ltd ACN 006 735 002 of Level 1, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra Victoria 3141 (the Promoter).

2.         Who may enter

The only persons who may enter and be awarded the prize are:

(a)   Vrewards members who are residents of Victoria or Tasmania and at least 18 years of age; and

(b)   who are not employees of the Promoter, Mastercard Asia/Pacific (Australia) Pty Ltd ABN 95 108 603 345) (“Mastercard”) or their respective related bodies corporate, or the immediate family of such employees.  “Immediate family” means spouse, parent, child or sibling, whether or not they live in the same household as the employee.

3.         Conditions of Entry

By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

4.         Duration

The competition commences at 9am EST on Thursday 1st August 2019and closes at 11.59pm EST on Wednesday 14th August 2019(Promotional Period).

5.         How to Enter

          During the Promotional Period:

(a)   visit and join as a Vrewards member or, for existing Vrewards members, log in to your Vrewards account;

(b)   select tickets to any movie session, including Gold Class, Vpremium, Vmax or Vjunior;

(c)   on the final payment page, purchase the tickets using Mastercard; and

(d)   on the final payment page, agree to save your Mastercard details by selecting “Save my card details”.

Each Vrewards member may only enter once.  Any cost associated with accessing the competition website is your responsibility and is dependent upon the internet service provider used.

6.         Selection of winners

The competition is a game of chance.  The Major Prize draw will take place at the office of the Promoter at Level 1, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra Victoria 3141 at 11am EST on Thursday 15th August 2019.  The Promoter’s decision in relation to every aspect of the competition is final and binding on every entrant.  No correspondence will be entered into.

7.         Prize

The first two entries drawn will each win one Village Cinemas Gold Class screening comprising:

A Gold Class screening for up to 32 people at one of the following Village Cinemas Gold Class locations: Victoria:  Crown, Doncaster, Fountain Gate, Jam Factory, Karingal, Knox, Plenty Valley, Rivoli, Southland, Sunshine or Werribee; Tasmania: Hobart.  The approximate prize value is $3,500 and includes film hire, tickets and a food and beverage package. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize.  The winner may choose to order additional food and beverage at their cost. The prize is not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and must be redeemed by 31st December 2019. Subject to availability at the time of booking – adequate notice must be provided of the date and location of the desired screening.  In the event that the prize is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.  The prize value is the recommended retail value at the time of printing.  Any incidental costs relating to the prize are the responsibility of the prize winner.


8.         Notification of winners

Prize winners will be notified by email and phone on Thursday 15th August 2019.  and the Promoter will hold the prizes until Wednesday 18 September 2019.  If a prize remains unclaimed at the end of this period, the Promoter will conduct an unclaimed prize draw at 11am EST on Thursday 19th September 2019 at the same location as the original draw. The winner of the redraw will be notified by email and phone on Thursday 19th September 2019.

9.         Entries

All entries become the property of the Promoter.  Entries not completed in accordance with the conditions of entry or received after the closing date will not be considered.  Indecipherable or incomplete entries will be disregarded.  No responsibility is taken for late or misdirected email.

10.       Publication of names

The Promoter reserves the right to announce or publish the winner’s name and/or photograph for publicity purposes.  The winner’s personal information may be disclosed to State departments and published as required by the relevant legislation regulating trade promotions.

11.       Privacy

The personal information collected as part of the entry is collected to enable identification of the winner, delivery of the prize to the winner and for marketing and promotional purposes.  In addition to any required disclosures referred to in Clause 10 above, your personal information will be disclosed to the Promoter and its related bodies corporate for these purposes.  You can contact the Promoter’s Privacy Officer if you would like details of the personal information that the Promoter may hold about you or if you would like it to be corrected.  Our Privacy Officer’s contact details are:  Level 1, 500 Chapel Street, South Yarra, Victoria 3141 Email:

12.       Conduct of competition

If for any reason the competition does not run for its duration due to a computer virus, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.  The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process or has engaged in conduct to jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the competition.  The Promoter is not responsible for any:

(a)              malfunction, delay or traffic congestion on any communication network or line, computer on-line system, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, or website;

(b)              failure of any SMS, email or entry to be received by the Promoter; nor

(c)              any injury or damage to entrants or any other person related to or resulting from participation in the competition or downloading any materials in a competition.

13.       Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its related bodies corporate, employees and agents are not liable for any loss or damage, including personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Promotion or the receipt or use of the prize.  This clause does not affect any rights a consumer may have which are unable to be excluded under Australian law.
